These are in general – which can be very beneficial in having some items from each group on hand however there are certain ones if you have for example respiratory symptoms or Gastrointestinal flu that would be more particular. If in doubt please ask.
Vitamins and supplements- Congaplex * have on hand you won’t regret it !*(Chewable for kids) Calcium lactate, Cataplex ACP
Herbs- Andrographis, astragalus, Elderberry ( sambucol is that brand I like best and they make a sugar free version- another great one to have on hand ), Medicinal mushrooms such as Chaga, Reishi, Maitake, Fenugreek with Thyme
Homeopathic- oscillococium ,flu remedy ( have a box on hand), arnica montana- aches and pains. B&T cough syrup- they make different versions pediatric, day time and night time- a blend of homeopathics that works quite well for coughs of all sorts.
Nature’s rite- congestion relief spray and sinus relief spray- blends again and provide wonderful relief.
Genexa – brand name and they have a wonderful array of products such as Cold Crush, Sinus relief ( also of note is their amazing jet lag homeopathic formula )
Umcka- brand name also – cold relief, cough syrups and more from this company that doesn’t disappointment.
Essential oils- * This is just a short list. Lavender angustifolia, and Thyme room spray, eucalyptus radiata works very well for respiratory issues, Peppermint &Ginger (diluted, ones of these works well for tummy rubs when it’s a Gi flu) Oregano, Tea Tree- although I would suggest something else in Melaleuca family for children, Ravensara, Thyme linalol, Benchmark Thyme ( for super bugs), also Clove. Inhalers of essential oils such as lavender and Eucalyptus radiata make great travel and school additions uping your anti-viral /bacterial aides to your pocket as inhaling the oils is the quickest way to get the oils into the system
Olba’s – essential oil and herbal cough drop….simply the best, quells the most wicked of coughs- often I will break the drop into smaller pieces as they are quite powerful. I like the drops better than the pastilles
Hydrosols- Check out my blog on what are hydrosols and how to use them. Hydrosols be used for both children and adults.-
Lemon Thyme, or tea tree ( both are fabulous for sore throats), Lavender, Rosalina.
For sore throats I love a remedy of Blood orange, Thyme thymol, and tea tree spritz – kids are ok with this as the citrus make the ones tasty. Just spray, swish and swallow. You can also swab the back of throats with it also. It works wonders !
Foods- Cook from these food groups often for you and your family- garlic, ginger root, cayenne, lemon, bone broth or home-made soups, leafy dark greens, root veggies, enjoy less refined sugar- sugar has been studied to show a decrease in our immune systems for over 4 hours after ingestion- Perhaps a reason why after a holiday we generally see an increase in illnesses.
